Mahjong Monday at Miru

On Monday, September 28, join Miru and The Mahjong Society, for beginner-friendly introduction to American mahjong, set against sweeping views of the Chicago River and Navy Pier.

Designed for true beginners, this 2.5-hour class will walk you through everything you need to start playing mahjong — from the tiles and National Mah Jongg League card to the Charleston, rules, and flow of the game. Following guided instruction, you’ll put your newfound skills into practice with play designed to build confidence and get you ready for your next game.

Cost is 90.00 per person and includes a glass of rosé, a 2.5-hour Mahjong 101 lesson with guided instruction, a 2026 National Mah Jongg League card to take home, and all sets and materials needed to play. Miru’s full menu of Japanese-inspired dishes and cocktails will also be available for purchase throughout the evening.
